about Name Numerology??????
Have you or anyone you know eever changed their name, birthdate because of the numerology associated with it? I am 7 life path, while my ex was a 3. I felt like he should change his name so our life is compatible together. I will admit I did not like his name very much (it’s David which is an 8 number) he answers to it, but only at first, then you say it over and over and he drowns the sound out.
I’ve been keeping an open mind on the name changing idea in numerology.
Most numerologists agree that to find your soul’s urge, inner dreams, and how these combine to give you the expression number, you need to use the full name at birth as written on the birth certificate.
This seems to imply that you can’t change who you are by changing your name.
I think that makes sense, you really can’t change the inner you, but you can change how you appear on the outside (the expression).
I do think though that the power of the name is in the expression and how it registers in the minds of others is important.
Take “Google” for example. It’s soul urge and inner dream number are both 8. Power, control and money. However it’s expression is 7 which is the number of research, its a calm, spiritual number. The choice of that name was no accident, someone knew the power of it in numerology.
So rather than changing your name, play around with how your name appears on your bills, bank cards, business cards etc.
You can do this by playing around with using middle names and changing them to initials or dropping them all together.
Or change your first name’s spelling or use a nickname.
Here’s a free online Numerology Name Calculator that you can use to play with variations on.

Rather than trying to make your numbers line up with someone else try aligning it to your life path number which comes from the date of birth.
To find life path number use this calculator:

Another point worth noting is that there are conflicting opinions amongst numerologists as to what is a vowel in the name and what isn’t. In English the standard vowels are A,E,I,O & U.
Numerology uses the vowels to find the soul urge and the consonants to find the inner dreams.
Some consider the letters Y & W to be vowels when they are used with a vowel in a name.
e.g. AY, OW etc.
This can alter dramatically your soul urge and inner dreams, the inner you. It does not alter the expression though.
Finally, I think the trick with numerology isn’t to try and change your numbers but to understand the challenges that they warn you about in your life.
They can tell you about yourself, the inner you (soul urge, inner dreams). How you appear to others (expression) and the path your life will take (from DOB).
Remember the Ancient Greek aphorism “Know thyself”.
It was the ancient greeks who gave us western numerology.

Between Panic and Desire $24.95 “Insouciant” and “irreverent” are the sort of words that come up in reviews of Dinty W. Moore’s books—and, invariably, “hilarious.” Between Panic and Desire , named after two towns in Pennsylvania, finds Moore at the top of his astutely funny form. A book that could be named after one of its chapters, “A Post-Nixon, Post-panic, Post-modern, Post-mortem,” this collection is an unconventional memoir of one man and his culture, which also happens to be our own. Blending narrative and quizzes, memory and numerology, and imagined interviews and conversations with dead presidents on TV, the book dizzily documents the disorienting experience of growing up in a postmodern world. Here we see how the major events in the author’s early life—the Kennedy assassination, Nixon’s resignation, watching Father Knows Best , and dropping acid atop the World Trade Center, to name a few—shaped the way he sees events both global and personal today. More to the point, we see how these events shaped, and possibly even distorted, today’s world for all of us who spent our formative years in the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s. A curious meditation on family and bereavement, longing and fear, self-loathing and desire, Between Panic and Desire unfolds in kaleidoscopic forms—a coroner’s report, a TV movie script, a Zen koan—aptly reflecting the emergence of a fractured virtual America. |
